I recently received a communication from my Internet Service Provider (who also provide my broadband connection, cable TV and telephone), headed, "A Change to our line-up". Great, I thought, they're going to give me something extra, maybe some new TV channels which I won't watch. Wrong! The change to their line-up is actually the withdrawal of the "free" webspace, on the basis that more of their customers are opting to use alternative services, such as social media. Now I guess that since this service is free, they are entirely within their rights to withdraw it, although that is pretty annoying for those of us who still make use of it (or did make use of it, I should say).
But wait. This is apparently presenting customers a with a great opportunity, since the ISP has arranged a deal with a third party to provide free hosting for twelve months, thereby saving us just short of £60. What that actually means, of course, is that after the first (free) year, what was once free will be costing just short of £60 per year. Fantastic. I'm truly grateful.
Anyhow, the upshot of all of this is that I've found a free hosting service and taken the opportunity to make a few changes. You can visit the new HangNine website here. There's not a lot of content, but it does provide links to the archive of the old HangNine website, this Blog and to the new Los Fantasticos website, which you can find here.
By the way. I don't know about you, but my eyesight is certainly not getting any better as I get older, so I'm going to switch to using a slightly larger font for the blog.
